The Key to Lasting Longer

Firstly let us take a look at defining the complaint:
Premature ejaculation is when the male reaches orgasm before he desires.
It is widely regarded that both partners in a relationship should be satisfied with the duration of sexual intercourse. The issue is when either party feels the need to be satisfied a little longer.
How Common Is It?
Quite simply, it is very common. The WHO (World Health Organization) estimated that over 40% of males on the planet experience some form of premature ejaculation; their definition being when the male ejaculates in under 2 minutes.
Where Does PE Stem From?
The reasons will vary as to why you are experiencing this issue, and in many cases it is the result of several different issues combined. Some of the most common reasons why males experience premature ejaculation are:
- Excess masturbation during youth - having rushed involuntary orgasms (masturbation), whilst not wanting to be caught.
- Life stresses - whether they be work, family or financially related
- Hereditry - new evidence suggests the condition may be passed down from generation to generation
- Excitement or nervousness - often experienced with a new partner
The Burning Question: How to Last Longer?
To reach a high level of sexual performance, you must take charge of your orgasms, be in control of how your body reacts, and know when you reach the limit of your arousal, so that you may counteract it to benefit both partners.
The avoidance of drugs and alcohol is a major factor as it slows the awareness of you body’s reaction time. Taking deep breaths and relaxing during sexual intercourse is not a bad way to start. When feeling as though you are about to peak, taking short breaks to compose yourself will ultimately make the experience more satisfying.
Other ways to help include:
- Masturbation - Masturbating around 2-4 hours before sexual intercourse can help you last longer when the time comes.
- The Squeeze Method - To delay an orgasm, squeeze the penis shaft for 20-30 seconds, then carry on lovemaking.
- The Stop-Start Technique - You can perform this alone or with a partner to build up the feeling of climaxing and stopping. This will increase the orgasm time due to repetition and you will be in tune with what your body is doing.
By developing you pelvic floor muscles, the ones which stop and start urination, you can increase the way you can control ejaculation. Similarly to the Squeeze Method above, you are squeezing or tensing from the inside.
To perform the exercises, you must hold the muscles for 3 seconds, then relax them for 3 seconds - just as you would do when lifting weights at the gym.
Although not for everybody, some males have found success using the techniques outlined above.
Breathing
One area of sex which is far too commonly overlooked is correct breathing. Your body and its tendencies can be controlled with deep, relaxing breaths. This calms the nerves or tension which can often be a contributor to the problem in the first place. Similar to meditation, you lower the heart rate which in turn relaxes muscles.
Communication between partners is the key to any good relationship, obviously if you are trying breathing techniques, talking about it before hand will be good preparation. Letting your partner know you are almost at a climax and stopping penetration to concentrate on other parts of lovemaking, will lead to a more pleasurable sexual experience.
Desensitizing Creams - Explained
What if exercises and breathing aren't enough? There are plenty of medicinal options that you may want to consider.
Wether it be pills, gels, sprays, or creams, there are a lot of products out there to deal with the issue of premature ejaculation.
Unfortunately, a lot of these products can be considered "spam" or "trash" products, eating into the weaknesses of the sufferers, without actually providing a credible solution.
The most common of products are desensitizing creams, which effectively numb the penis prior to intercourse. Although some of these products can effectively prolong your ejaculation, you are also likely to lose all sensation, which kind of defeats the point.
If you would prefer a safer alternative, that doesn't compromise sensation during sex, trying a herbal based product is definitely the way forward.
